Le Français Jean-Marc Mormeck a été champion du monde de boxe anglaise WBA et WBC. Il est la première personne à avoir unifié les couronnes mondiales des lourds légers après Evander Holyfield.

Il sortit vainqueur par K.O. technique à la première des quatre reprises prévues de son premier combat professionnel. Ce dernier eut lieu le 25 mars 1995 à Noisy et l'avait opposé à Pierrick Trideau.
Le 23 février 2002 à Marseille, il devient champion WBA des poids lourds légers en battant Virgil Hill par K.O. technique à la neuvième des douze reprises prévues.
Sa victoire par décision unanime à la douzième reprise sur Wayne Braithwaite le 2 avril 2005 à Worcester lui permet d'unifier les couronnes WBA et WBC des poids lourds légers.
Son palmarès est, à ce jour, de 0 nul, 3 défaites et 32 victoires dont 22 par K.O.
